1. How to power on the device?
The device supports the following ways to power on:
- Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn on the dash cam.
- Connect the cigarette lighter and start the vehicle. The cigarette lighter will be powered by the vehicle and the dash cam will be turned on automatically.
- In parking surveillance mode, the dash cam will be turned on automatically when any collision or movement of the vehicle is detected.
Note: If no external power supply is connected and the built-in battery has a low capacity, the dash cam will not be started.
2. How to power off the device?
The device supports the following ways to power off:
- Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn off the dash cam.
- When the dash cam is connected to the cigarette lighter socket, it will turn off automatically when the vehicle is shut off.
The dash cam will turn off automatically in the following situations:
- If no external power supply is connected and the built-in battery has a low capacity.
- If no external power supply is connected and the ambient temperature exceeds the discharge temperature limit of the built-in battery.
- If the dash cam is working under high temperature that exceeds its operating temperature limit.
- If the memory card is removed while the dash cam is working.
- If the cigarette lighter socket is powered continuously after the vehicle is shut off, the vehicle does not move, and the dash cam is in idle, it will turn off automatically after a certain period of time (The auto-off time needs to be set in Settings > System settings > Turned off automatically in parking).
Note: Certain vehicles may continue to supply power to the cigarette lighter socket after being shut off. Please refer to Power Supply Instructions for precautions on these kinds of vehicles.
3. Do I need to manually turn on/off the device?
When the device is connected to the cigarette lighter, you don’t need to manually turn it on/off. Every time the vehicle is started (i.e. the cigarette lighter port is power-on), the device automatically turns on; when the vehicle is stopped (i.e. the cigarette lighter port is power-off), it automatically turns off.
Some vehicles still power the cigarette lighter in parking. In such case, if you set auto-off time in settings, the dash cam will automatically turn off if the vehicle is stopped and in stationary for the certain period of time.
And when the vehicle is started next time, the device will not automatically turn on, and please turn it on manually.
4. Can the device be used without external power supply?
The device has a built-in battery, but it is only used to supply power for video storage when the device is turned off and during parking surveillance. It is not recommended to use the device without an external power supply.
When the device screen prompts “Low battery; please connect the charging cable”, please plug in the charging cable.
