The device supports the following ways to turn on:

  • Press the power button once to turn on the dash cam.
  • Connect the cigarette lighter socket and start the vehicle. The cigarette lighter socket will be powered by the vehicle and the dash cam will be turned on automatically.

Note: If no external power supply is connected and the built-in battery has a low capacity, the dash cam will not be started.

2. How to turn off the device?

The device supports the following ways to turn off:

  • Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn off the dash cam.
  • When the dash cam is connected to the cigarette lighter socket, it will turn off automatically when the vehicle is shut off.

The dash cam will turn off automatically in the following situations:

  • If no external power supply is connected and the ambient temperature exceeds the discharge temperature limit of the built-in battery.
  • If the dash cam is working under high temperature that exceeds its operating temperature limit.
  • If the memory card is removed while the dash cam is working.
  • Some vehicles still power the cigarette lighter in parking. In such case, if you set auto-off time in settings, the dash cam will automatically turn off if the vehicle is stopped and in stationary for the certain period of time. (You can set the auto-off time in Settings in the dash cam homepage).

Note: For vehicles that continue to supply power to the cigarette lighter socket after being shut off, please refer to Power usage for precautions.

3.  Do I need to manually turn on/off the device?

When the dash cam is connected to the cigarette lighter, you don’t need to manually turn it on/off. Every time the vehicle is started (i.e. the cigarette lighter socket is power-on), the device automatically turns on; when the vehicle is stopped (i.e. the cigarette lighter socket is power-off), it automatically turns off.

If the dash cam turns off due to the set Auto-OFF time, when the vehicle is started next time,  please turn on the dash cam manually.

4. Can the device be used without external power supply?

The device has a built-in battery, but it is only used to supply power for video storage when the device is turned off and during parking surveillance. It is not recommended to use the device without an external power supply.

When the device screen displays low battery notification, please plug in the charging cable.

  • Press the power button 5 times in a row.

6. The dash cam doesn’t work when the vehicle is started.

(1) Please check the connection between the dash cam, power cable and car charger.

(2) This situation occurs may due to the unmatched voltage between the cigarette lighter socket and the dash cam. Make sure you use the standard power cable and car charger within the package in case of incompatibility issues.
