1. How to add the dash cam on the 70mai app?
Add the dash cam on the 70mai app following the steps below:
Step 1: Downloading and installing the 70mai app
Use your phone to search for “70mai” in the app stores or scan the QR code listed in the user manual to download and install the 70mai app.
Step 2: Adding the device
- Turn on the dash cam.
- Open the 70mai app and log in your 70mai account.
- Tap Add device.
- Wait for the bluetooth scanning result and then select the dash cam Wi-Fi hotspot name.
- Complete the authorization following the voice prompts.
Step 3: Connecting the dash cam’s Wi-Fi
- Make sure the dash cam’s Wi-Fi hotspot is turned on.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to connect the dash cam’s Wi-Fi. In your phone’s WLAN list, find the dash cam’s hotspot name and then input the password.
- When connected, go back to the 70mai app. Follow the instructions to complete the beginner’s guide and adjust the camera angle. And then the dash cam homepage will display.
When you exit the dash cam homepage, you can find the added dash cam on the homepage of 70mai app.
If you would like to add more than one device, tap the icon + on homepage screen and then add another device following the above steps.
2. How to check the dash cam’s Wi-Fi hotspot name and password?
70mai Dash Cam M500 Wi-Fi hotspot information is as follows:
- Hotspot name: 70mai_M500_XXXX (Please check the label on the device for the hotspot name.)
- Default password: 12345678
You can go to dash cam settings to change the password after the device is connected to your phone.
In case you forget the modified password, you can restore the dash cam to factory settings by pressing the power button 5 time in a row. The Wi-Fi password will change to the default password 12345678.
3. Can’t find the dash cam’s Wi-Fi hotspot in your phone’s Wi-Fi hotspot list?
If you cannot see the dash cam’s Wi-Fi hotspot name in your phone’s Wi-Fi hotspot list, do the followings:
(1) Make sure the dash cam’s Wi-Fi hotspot is on. If it is not, press the power button once to turn it on.
(2) Turn off the wireless LAN (or WLAN) and then on again on your phone’s system settings.
After doing the above, if you still cannot find the dash cam’s Wi-Fi hotspot, please contact customer service.
4. Why does the phone display “Security verification fail” during the connection?
Security verification fails because the connection authorization of the phone is refused. Please delete the dash cam on the 70mai app then add it again.
After successfully delete the device, please add the device again.
5. When using iPhones to connect the dash cam Wi-Fi hotspot, why “Cannot join the network” prompts when inputting the password?
If you enter the wrong password when connecting the hotspot and try to input the password again in a short time, iPhone may recognize your operation as illegal. So that a pop-up dialog box “Cannot join the network xxxx (xxxx is Wi-Fi hot spot name) ” displays on the screen.
In this case, please exit the password input interface, back to the Wi-Fi hotspot list, select the dash cam’s hotspot and then re-connect.
If the above operation still cannot make a successful connection, please forget the dash cam’s Wi-Fi hotspot in your phone’s WLAN list then re-connect.
