1. What is driving route?
Driving route is a function that draws historical driving routes of the car on a map.
During normal operation, the smart dash cam (“dash cam” or “device”) will save the car’s geographical location (latitude and longitude) and speed in the dash cam’s internal storage device (such as MicroSD card or eMMC). These are the route data.
After connecting to the dash cam using the 70mai app, you can synchronize the route data to your phone. The 70mai app will process the route data and present it in an image format.
In addition, the 70mai app also supports historical driving records checking, driving route playback and other functions. You can use the 70mai app to share the images and videos with your friends.
2. How do I tell if the dash cam has successfully obtained positioning information?
The dash cam cannot generate driving record data unless it has successfully obtained positioning information.
Check the status bar on the dash cam screen. If you see the icon , the dash cam’s positioning system is working normally and the related functions are available.
If the positioning icon is not shown, the dash cam’s positioning system is unable to obtain positioning information. Bring the dash cam to an open space and wait for around 3 minutes before trying again.
Take note that if the car’s windshield is coated with an insulation film, it may prevent the dash cam’s positioning system from getting a good satellite signal. For more information, check with the insulation film supplier.
3. How can I synchronize the driving record data saved in the dash cam to the 70mai app?
Please following the steps below:
- Ensure that the dash cam is correctly installed in the car and working normally. Drive the car over a certain distance.
- Turn on the dash cam’s Wi-Fi hotspot and connect your phone to the Wi-Fi hotspot. Open the 70mai app and connect to the dash cam.
- Enter the dash cam settings though the homepage and tap “Synchronize driving route support data”. Follow the on-screen instructions to synchronize the driving record data to your phone.
You can also enter the driving route page using the 70mai app by tapping My > Driving route.
4. How do I view driving records?
Please follow the steps below:
- Ensure that you have connected to the dash cam’s Wi-Fi hotspot through the 70mai app and have successfully synchronized the driving record data to your phone.
- Go to 70mai app, tap My > Driving route. During this process, make sure your phone’s Internet service is available.
- Find the record that you want to view in the list and tap it.
- The 70mai app will jump to the driving route details page which will show the selected record on a map.
5. No driving route data displays on the screen
Possible Reason 1: The dash cam’s positioning system fails to obtain positioning information and cannot generate driving record data.
Solution: Check the status on the dash cam’s home screen. If the positioning icon is not shown, the dash cam’s positioning system is unable to obtain positioning information. Bring the dash cam to an open space and wait for around 3 minutes before trying again.
Possible Reason 2: The car did not move, so no driving record data is generated.
Solution: Ensure that the dash cam is correctly installed in the car and working normally. Drive the car over a certain distance to generate driving record data.
Possible Reason 3: Driving record data was not synchronized to the 70mai app.
Solution: See the answer to “How can I synchronize the driving record data saved in the dash cam to the 70mai app?”
Possible Reason 4: The phone has no network connection. When viewing driving records, the phone requires a network connection to load the map.
Solution: Disconnect the phone from the dash cam’s Wi-Fi hotspot and connect it to a network (WLAN or mobile data network). Tap My > Driving route to enter the “Driving route” page to view the records.
