Activate the dash cam when first time use

Power on the Dash Cam
When turning on the dash cam for the first time, you will hear a voice prompt “Xiaomai has turned on, please connect to your mobile phone to activate”. And the indicator is breathing blue.
(If the indicator keeps on blue, please press the power key to open the Wi-Fi hotspot of the dash cam.)

Connect App to the Dash Cam

Step1. Open the 70mai app, sign in with your mobile phone number.

Step2. At the app homepage, click “Add new dash cam” and follow the instructions on the screen to connect to the dash cam. The default password of the dash cam Wi-Fi is 12345678.

Step3. When you hear a voice prompt “Please press the power key to authorize” from the Dash Cam, press the power key to complete the authorization.

Step4. After connected to the dash cam, the app will display usage wizard about the basic skills of using the dash cam and adjusting the angle of the lens.

Homepage

Device list
If you didn’t add any devices, the device list is blank. Tap the list or tap “Add” button on the upper right corner of the page to add a new dash cam.
If you have added your dash cam, click the device picture to enter the dash cam plug-in page.
If there are more than one dash cams in your device list, swipe right or left across the page to choose different dash cams.

Check firmware update
If a new firmware of the dash cam is available, a red dot displays on the upper right corner of the “Firmware update” button. And you can update your firmware following the below steps:
Step1. Tap “Firmware update” to enter the firmware update page;

Step2. Tap “Download” to download the update package to your mobile phone. When the package is downloaded, please enter the dash cam plug-in page to push it to your device.
If your device has updated to the latest firmware version, you can delete the update package in your phone. Tap ”  ” on the upper right corner of the page to delete.

Dash Cam plug-in

Before entering the plug-in page, please connect your mobile phone to the Wi-Fi hotspot of the dash cam. When you exit the plug-in page, your phone will automatically disconnect with the dash cam. In the dash can plug-in page, you can do the following:

Preview
Preview what the Dash Cam has recorded. Tap the icon on the lower right corner of the screen to switch to full-screen display.

Take photos
Tap the “Take photo” button, the Dash Cam will snap as a feedback. After photo is taken, there will be a voice prompt “Photo has been taken”, and the photo will be stored both in the album and SD card of the phone.

View the album of the dash cam
On the dash cam plug-in homepage, click “” to enter the album of the device. You can view the videos and photos saved in the SD card.
The album contains the following contents:

  • Normal videos
  • Emergency videos
  • Photos

After entering the specific album list, you can view the content or download it to your mobile phone’s local album.

Modify device settings
You can modify the device settings on the 70mai dash cam app. At the dash cam plug-in page, lick “Device settings” to enter the settings page.
You can change the following device settings:

Adjust lensAdjust the angle of dash cam’s lens.

AboutView the version information of the dash cam.

Push the update package
If you have downloaded the latest firmware package, the “Push update” icon on the bottom of the plug-in homepage is available; if there is no usable update package, the “Push update” icon is unavailable.
Tap “Push update” to push the update package to the dash cam.
When the dash cam is receiving the update package, the indicator flashes blue and the recording is stopped.

Personal Center

At homepage of the app, click ”  ” to enter the personal center and you can do the following:

Modify personal profile
You can modify your avatar, nickname, name and gender.

Manage your devices
You can manage the added devices.
Select the device in the device list and enter into the device page. You can view/delete the device.

View app information
You can view the app version, user agreement and privacy policy.
