Preparation

Clean the installation surface, typically over the rear license plate, for the rear camera.

 Installing the rear camera

  1. Remove the release liner of the double-sided tape on the bracket of the backup camera, and stick the bracket onto the chosen installation surface.

Caution: To avoid the backup camera from detaching, it is recommended to bolt it down using self-tapping screws.
  2. Press the backup camera against the installation surface to secure the attachment.
Note: The adhesion takes some time to stabilize. Keep it still for a while.
  3. Drill a hole on the trunk or the rear bumper, being sure that the hole is large enough for the male plug of the backup camera to pass through.

 Connecting the power supply

  1. Connect the supplied Type-C connector of the power cord to the power port of the dash cam, and connect the other end to the car charger.
  2. As shown in the figure below, run the wire along the top of the rear windshield, C-pillar, top of the side windows to the main device. Plug the power port into the main device (the AV/IN port of the main device).

Connecting the backup camera

  1. Pass the male plug of the backup camera through the hole on the trunk or bumper, and connect the supplied backup camera signal cable to the male plug of the backup camera inside the trunk.
  2. Disassemble the taillight assembly and locate the wire that powers the taillight. Note: An easier way to find the light is that you have someone turn the ignition on and shift the gear into reverse. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the wires. The correct reading of the correct wire should be 12V.
  3. Use correct tools to tuck the red wire of the backup camera signal cable to the terminal that powers the taillight.
  4. Tuck the black wire of the backup camera signal cable into the common ground terminal of the harness to the taillight.
  5. Use the supplied wire trimming tool to hide the backup camera signal cable under the rubber sealing strip on the top of the rear windshield, C pillar (or D pillar), and top of a side window, and connect the signal cable to the dash cam.
  6. Connect the other end of the supplied backup camera signal cable to the backup camera port on the dash cam.

Adjusting the angle

  1. Turn on the engine of the car.
The dash cam automatically turns on and starts continuous recording.
  2. Shift the gear into reverse to check the angle of the backup camera, adjusting the angle as needed by loosening and tightening the two screws.

Note: The installation and wiring methods for different vehicles may differ from what described in the user manual. The installation shall be conducted by a professional installer.
